School and Taking Time
Random Thoughts August 25th, 2008So, high school started on thursday. AHHH!!!
Haha, but really. I honestly didn’t think that I’d be too excited for this year. In fact I wasn’t, I was dreading every minute that passed, because that meant that I was a minute closer to the beginning of school. But… as strange as it may seem I’m actually a little *gasp* excited for this year! I hear junior year is supposed to be the best. But we shall see.
I really like all my classes too. I have 2 English classes, which I’m extra excited about. And Geometry is proving to be easier than I thought too.
But Spanish 3 wasn’t able to fit into my schedule this year unfortunately. But, looking on the bright side, that gives me time to do other things, like taking up a different language. Haha. There’s actually been talk of me taking up Greek again, which I’m excited about. Greek is so much fun to study…well the little bit that I got to look at before my freshman year was. So it’s back to the beginning I go.
But, God needs to take center stage right now. I haven’t done my devotions for a day or two and I am stressed!! Maybe that’s why, and maybe it isn’t. But the day will feel like it’s going a lot better if I start my day out with God. Even if I can only devote 5 minutes of my morning to Him, I need to take that time.
If you’re having trouble with keeping up a schedule for devotions or just a quiet time with God, and are a really busy person, and if five minutes is all you can spare than do it! Try just talking to God like you’re talking to your best friend, because no matter how big or little the issue may be He still cares. Maybe when you’re in the shower, on your way to school or work, or even as soon as you wake up in the morning. All are great times to just take a few minutes to stop and pray.
Well, that’s all I have for the time being.
Love in Christ,
Liz
